Introduction
In today’s digital era, Information and communication technology(ICT),is reshaping the way education is delivered and experienced. Traditional teaching methods are gradually giving way to more dynamic, interactive, and student-centered approaches. ICT tools such as educational apps, videos, smart boards, and online platforms, make learning more engaging, accessible, and flexible. They allow teachers to create diverse lesson plans that cater to different learning needs and styles, while enabling students to explore topics beyond the textbook. Students are no longer passive learners; with ICT, they can collaborate, research, and apply their knowledge in creative ways. This not only enhances academic understanding but also develops important 21st-century skills like critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving.
In Bhutan, the integration of ICT in education is steadily progressing. Though challenges like limited infrastructure and internet access remain, efforts are being made to bring digital tools into classrooms. Government initiatives and teacher training programs are helping schools embrace technology to improve teaching and learning. As Bhutan continues to move forward, ICT holds great potential to bridge educational gaps, connect learners to global knowledge, and build a more innovative and inclusive education system—one that prepares students for a fast-changing world while staying rooted in local values.
